Comments and guestbook posts offer an easy way for visitors to comment on or ask a question about your images and galleries.
Comment display preference The default is to have any comments for a gallery or image, and a box to enter a new comment display right on the page.
The "comments displayed with link to the comment entry box" option means that any existing comments will display, with just a simple link to post a new comment.
Clicking this link will reload the page and display a comment entry box at the top of the page.
Commenting Options When posting a new comment, just type your message and click the "Add Comment" button.
If you check the "private comment" checkbox, only the account holder for that image or gallery will be able to view that comment.
The account holder does not have the option to make your private comment non-private.
If you post a private comment on someone else's gallery, you will not be able to see your own comment.
If you are a guest, and guest comments are allowed on the page, you have the option of entering a name and email address. These are optional. If you enter an email address in the email box, it will only be displayed to the account holder. If you do not enter a name, your message will show as being from "Guest"
It's usually better to create an account first to make it easier to see who is really leaving the message.
Yes. You can block a particular user from commenting on your pages by adding them to your **blacklist usergroup.
There are two ways you can do this:
- Go to the profile page of the user you want to blacklist. Find the "Add user to a usergroup" section. Select **blacklist from the dropdown list. Click the "Add to Usergroup" button.
- Go to your usergroup management page and add their username to the members list.
When posting a comment, if you check the "private comment" box, only the account holder for that image or gallery will be able to view your comment.
The account holder does not have the option to make your private comment non-private.
PBase is constantly working to combat spam, but there are also a few things you can do to reduce the amount of spam you receive.
-You can allow only PBase users to post comments. This may not be a good idea if you would like for family or friends, who are not PBase subscribers, to post comments.
-You can choose to show PBase users' comments immediately, while guest comments will be hidden until you choose to show or delete them.
DO NOT post the spam comment in the PBase forums.
A comment is a post left on an image or gallery.
A guestbook post is left on your account's guestbook and is not tied to any particular images or galleries.
Both comments and guestbook posts show up on your comment management page, but only your guestbook posts show up in the guestbook
The steps below show how to access the comment management page. Beginning from your profile page click the "Comment Management" link found in the "Statistics" section.
Here you are able to delete and hide comments. You are not able to make private comments public.
